New Intelligent Total Control System provides progressive power for fine leveling and grading applications
In keeping with its mission to bring true performance with both power and precision together in every machine, Kobelco Construction Machinery America introduces the new SK485LC ACERA Mark 8 full-size excavator.
Like other Kobelco excavators, the SK485LC has a competitive edge over other industry excavators increasing efficiency and productivity. Whether the job is pipe laying, site-prep, roads and bridges, earth moving or quarry work, the SK485LC provides the power needed to get the job done. With powerful hydraulics, the excavator is among the industry’s best in terms of the breakout, lift, drawbar pull and swing torque forces it provides.
“When large amounts of material need to be moved quickly and efficiently, it is important that operators have a machine that delivers optimum performance to accomplish the job,” said Paul Golevicz, brand marketing manager at Kobelco America. “The SK485LC’s faster cycle times, coupled with its large bucket capacity, drastically increase productivity, making it not only powerful but efficient.”
This excavator features the Kobelco Intelligent Total Control System (ITCS), which recognizes an operator’s actions and assists with repeatability functions by providing progressive power for fine leveling and grading applications. The machine also features a proven engine that delivers 326 net horsepower for increased performance and power.
The Kobelco SK485LC has four standard working modes for enhanced performance. The H Mode allows heavy digging and high productivity while the S Mode delivers standard digging and increased fuel savings. The B Mode powers one-way flow attachments (e.g., breakers) and the A Mode is used for attachments that require two-way flow. The SK485LC also features Heavy Lift on command, which provides approximately 10 percent more lifting power without time limit.
The excavator has an enhanced cab design for operator comfort and efficiency. Two-way hydraulic flow can be activated from the cab and the hydraulic lockout has been repositioned for easier reach and activation. The cab features a seven-way adjustable suspension seat, cross-flow air ventilation and an orange backlit monitor with sunshade for easy daylight viewing. All mechanical components are grouped together for easy daily maintenance checks, increasing overall productivity.
The Kobelco SK485LC is manufactured by Kobelco America in the United States at the company’s Calhoun, Ga., factory.
