New Tier III SK350LC Acera Mark 8 Excavator from Kobelco Delivers Industry-leading Bucket and Arm Digging Force
CAROL STREAM, ILL. (Oct. 23, 2006) – The new SK350LC Acera Mark 8 hydraulic excavator from Kobelco Construction Machinery America delivers superior digging, leveling and lifting performance along with improved operator comfort and reliability. Powered by a 264 hp turbocharged electronic fuel-injected Hino engine that is Tier III certified, the SK350LC has an operating weight of 79,600 lbs, digs to 24 feet 10 inches and reaches to 36 feet 3 inches at ground line.
“The SK350LC provides industry-leading bucket and arm digging forces in its class, so the operator can easily handle the most demanding digging conditions,” said Paul Golevicz, brand marketing manager at Kobelco. A power boost switch on the new excavator provides 10 percent more power on command for increased bucket breakout force, without time limitations. The new excavator also provides outstanding drawbar pull for grading and hill climbing under load.
The new machine features a refined, industry-exclusive Independent Total Control System (ITCS) that provides incredibly smooth response of hydraulic controls for very fine finishing and grading applications.
The spacious, ergonomically designed cab on the SK350LC maximizes operator comfort and visibility. A 7-position suspension seat adjusts for operators of every size and shape.
“All major controls – including double-flow hydraulics for powering tools and attachments, mode selection switches and heavy lift and independent travel switches – are located on the operator’s right side for easy access,” Golevicz said.
To reduce maintenance time and boost productivity, all routine servicing and fluid checks can be performed easily from ground level, with access to filters, batteries, sight gauges and couplers.
The SK350LC is ideally suited for digging trenches, carrying and setting large pipe and trench boxes, backfilling, clearing sites and loading trucks.
